The Education Director should seek out information about scholarships from military / retired service organization, local state colleges and junior colleges. The Education Director should have a copy of the Veterans Affairs Survivor Benefits and Service Booklet which gives information on the Veterans Administration educational assistance to qualified dependents. Information can be obtained by going to www.ibill.va.gov. The Education Director needs to know how to use the computer and search engines to find out the latest information concerning the Fry Scholarship and to list other current agencies: federal, state or private offering educational assistance. Trade Schools and obtaining certification in various career fields can be found using Google. The Education Director needs to submit articles to at least two issues of the GSW National Newsletter to help GSW members be aware of new information on educational issues. The Director needs to reply promptly to all questions regarding educational benefits. The Educational Director will submit an Annual Report to the Board Chair and to the Convention Coordinator for printing which will be included in the Convention Packet.
